SAP CAP Fullstack Developer - Energy Sector - Brussels - ASAP Start - Freelance / CDI act digital

As part of a large sustainability initiative, the organisation has developed a custom, award‑winning supply‑chain tracking and carbon‑accounting platform built with SAP CAP and SAP UI5. This tool collects environmental and supply‑chain data to support decision‑making and decarbonisation efforts.

The product is growing in scope, and the team is expanding. You will contribute to both new feature development and enhancements to the existing solution.

Role Overview

The organisation is seeking an experienced SAP Fullstack Developer with strong expertise in SAP UI5, SAP CAP (Node.js) and CDS modelling.
You will work on:

• Extending custom SAP UI5/Fiori applications
• Building and enhancing CAP OData services
• Maintaining and evolving CDS models on SAP HANA
• Supporting operational activities for the existing platform
• Advising Product Owners and Analysts on technical feasibility and design

The position includes both development and technical advisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development (SAP UI5 / Fiori)

• Design, develop and enhance UI5/Fiori applications
• Ensure UI performance, maintainability and optimal user experience

Backend Development (SAP CAP / CDS / HANA)

• Develop and maintain CAP‑based OData services
• Update and optimise CDS database models
• Contribute to backend architecture and logic

Collaboration & Advisory

• Work with Product Owners and Functional Analysts to translate requirements into technical designs
• Support roadmap discussions and solution architecture
• Provide technical guidance to the product team

Documentation & Support

• Produce high‑quality technical documentation
• Support operations and troubleshooting of the existing application
• Ensure clean, maintainable, and well‑structured code

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in SAP UI5 / Fiori
• In‑depth knowledge of SAP CAP (Node.js) and CDS
• Experience with:
  • SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)
  • SAP HANA DB
  • SAP BTP Cockpit
  • Cloud Foundry (CF)
  • CDS CLI
• Proficient in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Knowledge of ABAP CDS is a valuable plus
• Good understanding of Git version control
